FEATURES

We aim at training personnel who are interested in joining the emerging industry in genomics, bioinformatics and personalized medicine.
We enable secondary school teachers to conduct bioinformatics research projects in their career.
Workshops and hands-on experience in genomics and bioinformatics will be provided by international experts.
The Beijing Genomics Institute (BGI), one of the biggest genome centres in the world, will provide strong support for the training and research projects in these programmes.

TUITION FEE

Full-time MSc Programme (1 year)

For admission in 2019 (provisional): HK$110,000 payable in two installments.


Part-time MSc Programme (2 years)

For admission in 2019 (provisional): HK$55,000 per year payable in two installments annually.

ASSESSMENT

For the mandatory courses, performance will be assessed by assignments, examination and course paper. For the research project (as required for the MSc programme), assessment will be based on research performance, oral presentation, and written report.

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

Students should complete all mandatory courses including seven 3-unit courses and one 3-unit research project. Students should pass all assessments and obtain a cumulative overall GPA of at least 2.0 in order to graduate.

RECOGNITION

Master of Science in Genomics and Bioinformatics is a quotable qualification approved by the Medical Council of Hong Kong.

Accreditation by the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine (HKAM)

The MSc programme in Genomics and Bioinformatics is accreditted by the Hong Kong Academy of Medicine (HKAM) with the following CME/CPD points. Points will be applied upon request of students in July of the admitted year.
